¿En qué grados y niveles educativos se puede aplicar la certificación Oxford TCC?

No hay límite ni de edad, ni de niveles, cada institución educativa puede definir el grado en el que quiera certificar. Sin embargo, se recomienda aplicar la certificación a partir de 4to grado de primaria o en el último grado de cada sección.

Levels and series

Recognizing the diverse needs of schools, Self-English offers three distinct series for English language instruction:

Self-English Approach Series

Target Audience: ESL Elementary Schools.
Weekly Hours: Designed for schools with 5 to 8 hours of English classes per week.
Levels: Covers levels from Alpha through Zeta.
Methodology: Employs a 5-phase weekly structure including exposure through videos, active reading and written expression, linguistic competence building, active listening and oral expression, and game/communication dynamics.

Self-English Conquer Series

Target Audience: Bilingual Elementary Schools.
Weekly Hours: Requires 12 to 15 hours of English classes per week.
Key Features: This is considered the optimal version for bilingual systems due to its rich content. It includes a project per unit in upper elementary levels and a weekly writing workshop.
Levels: Also covers levels from Alpha through Zeta.
Methodology: Structured around thematic units, each with 11 phases, including an integrating project. Lessons (A, B, C, D) within these units use a "10-step methodology towards English language acquisition".

Self-English Dominate Series

Target Audience: Junior High Schools.
Weekly Hours: Also requires 12 to 15 hours of English classes per week.
Levels: Comprises six distinct levels, ranging from basic (Delta or A1) to advanced (Pi or C1). A placement test is available to identify each student's proficiency level.
Methodology: Similar to the Conquer series, it's organized into thematic units with 11 phases and an integrating project per unit, utilizing the "10-step methodology" for its core lessons.

Personalized Learning Pathways


The Self-English system, powered by Nimbus GED, is specifically designed to enable schools to personalize teaching and learning. This capability is highly beneficial for creating learning pathways that reinforce learning at home, whether for students needing additional support or for those capable of advancing independently.
Here are ideas and features within Self-English that facilitate creating such personalized learning pathways:

  • Flexible content creation and customization:
    • Modify and Adapt Existing Materials: Schools can acquire a wide variety of interactive and gamified books from our Showcase. Crucially, teachers have the ability to modify, adapt, and complement these books with their own resources. For students needing reinforcement, teachers can simplify existing lessons or add supplementary materials that explain concepts in different ways. For advanced learners, they can add more challenging exercises or extend current topics.
    • Create Lessons from Scratch: Teachers are empowered to create their own lessons from scratch using the Nimbus Constructor module. This allows for highly targeted content tailored to specific learning gaps for lower-level students or advanced topics for self-paced learners.
    • Assemble Unique Learning Paths: The system explicitly enables educators to assemble unique learning paths or "routes of learning". This means you can modify the order of lessons, add custom materials, or remove content as needed. For home reinforcement, a path might involve repeating certain units or focusing on specific grammatical structures. For self-advancement, a path could accelerate through known material or introduce new, challenging content.
    • Leverage Ready-Made Resources: Educare Innovación, through its Research Center, provides thousands of editable interactive resources and lessons for each school grade, allowing schools to "just choose and use" them rather than starting from zero. This offers a rich library from which to select appropriate content for personalized home study.
  • Technology for Seamless Home Learning:
    • Any Device, Offline Access: Self-English interactive books are accessible on any device, with or without an internet connection. This is critical for home learning, overcoming potential connectivity barriers and ensuring continuous access to materials via Apps for Android, iOS, and Windows.
    • Integrated Learning Management System (LMS): Nimbus GED acts as the central ecosystem technological platform where students access their interactive books, control their progress, and view points and badges. This centralized system makes it easy for students to find and engage with their assigned personalized content at home.
    • Gamification: The platform includes integrated gamification features. This is particularly beneficial for motivating students to engage with learning independently at home, turning study into a more attractive and rewarding experience.
    • Teacher Tools for Monitoring and Feedback: Teachers can create and administer exams, projects, and tasks and obtain reports of advances and points for students, both individually and by group or subject. Information Technology for Young Learners es el programa de informática y tecnología en inglés, diseñado para desarrollar en los estudiantes las habilidades del pensamiento crítico y las competencias para el uso correcto de la tecnología.

Se imparte en 1, 2 o hasta 3 horas de clase de informática y tecnología a la semana y, a diferencia de otros programas, es el único que:

  • Cuenta con una certificación ante la Sociedad Internacional para la Tecnología en la Educación (ISTE, por sus siglas en inglés).
  • No privilegia técnicas únicas ni marcas específicas de software.
  • Aborda cuatro áreas de contenido en torno a la tecnología.
